The Broiler Equipment Company (BEC) was founded in the UK over 50 years ago, and is credited with developing the first round plastic automatic drinker for the poultry and game bird rearing industries. BEC products have now been in use for over forty years and have developed an enviable reputation for reliability all over the world.
Osprey Ltd, is based in the UK, and has grown rapidly over the last 50 years. We specialise in plastic injection moulding and purchased BEC in January 2004.
Investment in the BEC product line continues with the recent introduction of new bird feeders and the retooling of some existing products. This includes poultry drinkers to increase the number of game rearing products manufactured in-house. The product range now includes drinkers ranging from 1 ltr hand filled to large ballasted auto poultry drinkers suitable for turkeys, and bird feeders ranging from 1 kg to 50 kg capacities.
BEC has benefited greatly from Osprey’s expertise in plastic moulding having achieved ISO9001:2008 accreditation in all aspects of its operations. All game and poultry rearing equipment production is carried out to audited procedures, ensuring reliable, quality products.
The BEC poultry drinkers and bird feeders are just one part of a wide range of product lines manufactured and supplied by Osprey. Others include household products such as vacuum cleaners, as well as equipment for deep-sea fishing and fish farming. With the emphasis on manufacturing in-house wherever possible, many of these game rearing products are designed and produced in Osprey’s own factories here in the UK.
